Wanda Aikens

Wanda Aikens is a professional artist/arts educator, born in Washington, D.C. She is a former coordinator of the Anacostia Museum partnership with Lucy Moten Elementary School. Ms. Aikens has an Associates of Arts Degree from Prince George’s Community College, certification in exhibit preparation from the Smithsonian Institution and was the manager of the International Art Gallery in Frenchman’s Reef, St. Thomas, VI. She was also an exhibits specialists at the Capital Children’s Museum in Washington, D.C. Ms. Aikens served with numerous organizations including Hadley Hospital, Senior Citizens Counseling and Delivery Service, D.C. Public School’s Head Start, Med-Kid National Learning Center, D.C. Department of Corrections Second Change Program and was an arts project contractor for Hampton Institute, Hampton, VA. Wanda Aikens is presently the Executive Director of the Ward 7 Arts Collaborative in Washington, D.C.
