No artist’s statement should remain static. If we don’t grow as artists we should at least grow as people. Artists record eras and immortalize cultures. We have a predetermined duty to seek creativity beyond the dollar and maintain a selflessness that permits us to share our work with the world. Conscious or not, we create from a spirit of love. As humans we rarely build artistically from hatred. Let the work speak for itself and extract from it what speaks to your spirit as opposed to what the scholars or critics may advocate. When the chipmunk in your yard comes dangerously close and looks you in the eye; it does not ask your name, religion, or even your age. It experiences you at face value from the most primal expression of your spirit. Art should be this way.
