I choose to work in a MIXED MEDIA environment which seeks to combine several fusible materials. I find it profoundly exciting to create with four or more different elements at the same time. My basic foundation is usually clay which is then augmented by materials of such textural quality as wood, metals, copper, copper enameling, fabric, glass, chromatic paint, paper and other fibers. The extravagant character of the work is achieved by the sophisticated application of cut and fused glass, electroforming, electroplating, hand designed jewelry and fashionable and serged fabrics. One special feature of my work which adds a unique dimension is the use of found, rusted and discarded objects to enhance the overall appearance and presentation. I love working with the human face and I enjoy the challenge of incorporating faces and these found objects together.
Creating art that speaks to perfection, beauty and love is the essence of my soul. Each piece is a continuum of the last. I fall into joyous love for a moment at completion. I am a spectator. The creation says “I am beyond your tomorrows but rich in your past.” It is immediately released. It was about the journey. I strive to move imagination beyond contemporary perspective to a plane where each creation demands attention and reflection, engulfing the onlooker. My works exhibit concepts of beauty, elegance and style created to be consistent with the universal values of love, understanding and compassion.
